Despite being the Denver Broncos’ scapegoat, Russell Wilson landed right back on his feet.
The former Super Bowl champion has found a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it’s hard to think of a better fit for him right now.
For starters, he’s going to a place where he should have little-to-no competition for the starting job whatsoever, as he’s clearly a better choice than Kenny Pickett, who wasn’t on the field for the season finale despite being cleared to play.
On top of that, he’s going to have an elite defense, one of the best coaches in the game, and a set of solid skill players who’ll make his life easier.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton claimed that the Steelers made the right decision by signing Wilson, stating that Pickett won’t see the field for as long as he’s available and going as far as to predict that he’ll win Comeback Player of the Year.
“Russell Wilson will be the Comeback Player of the Year in the NFL,” Carton said.

Russell Wilson might not be the MVP candidate he used to be, but the Steelers don’t need him to be that guy, either.
They just need someone who can play efficient football, and by all means, he can.
If he can turn back the clock and give them some glimpses of the player he once was, then so be it.
The Steelers have always been a big threat despite subpar quarterback play, and they’ll be much better and more dangerous with Wilson at the helm.
