After getting the best of Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics are officially NBA champions once again, with stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown finally able to win it all after years of disappointing exits in the playoffs.
With the Celtics being crowned champions this year, the storied franchise will now hang an 18th championship banner in the rafters at TD Garden, an NBA record, breaking the tie held with the arch-rival Los Angeles Lakers since 2020.
Although this is Boston’s first title since Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen teamed up to win it all in 2008, former NBA player and Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem claims the Celtics are one of the most dominant franchises since 2000, along with the Lakers, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Heat via NBA on ESPN.

There’s no question that the Lakers, Warriors, and Spurs are more than deserving to be on this list, with Los Angeles winning six titles, San Antonio winning three, Golden State winning four, and Boston rounding things out with two.
The Heat have their spot secure with three titles and multiple Finals appearances, which means this is essentially just a list of teams that won the most titles.
The Cleveland Cavaliers should also get consideration with five Finals appearances and one title won by LeBron James and company over Curry’s 73-win Warriors in 2016, which was an iconic moment in NBA history.
