Michael Jefferson, a wide receiver prospect out of Louisiana, has recently been involved in a serious car accident.
Jefferson was slated to be a mid-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, but after this accident, much was unknown about his future.
In a recent report from Jefferson’s attorney via Adam Schefter, it was revealed that Jefferson is slated to miss the 2023 NFL season.
Louisiana-Lafayette WR draft prospect Michael Jefferson, who was hit by a drunken driver on Easter night, was released from the hospital today. He is expected to miss this season, but doctors believe he should be able to play in 2024.

However, as Schefter points out, Jefferson could be available for the 2024 season, if all goes well.
Jefferson’s road to recovery could prove to be difficult, which is highlighted by his attorney.
Being that he was struck by a drunk driver, his attorney points out that, there is no excuse for drunk driving, especially in today’s day and age.
With the emergence of Uber and Lyft, and other ride-sharing services, there is always someone to pick up people that are impaired, keeping them off the roads.
The NFL community has rallied around Jefferson, hoping and praying for the best for him and his future endeavors.
Even though Jefferson is injured, there is still a chance that he is drafted this season, as his attorney and Schefter dictate.
Putting his on-field play aside, Jefferson’s character and off-field presence have been highly regarded.
While teams across the league certainly value the on-field product, having someone who fits in with their culture and locker room presence is equally important.
