The New Orleans Pelicans fell short of their goal again.
More than that, Brandon Ingram didn’t exactly do a lot to help their cause in the playoffs, once again falling short when it mattered the most.
That, plus his injury-proneness, may have made the team turn their back on him.
According to a report by Sam Amico, the Pelicans aren’t going to offer him a max contract extension and will instead entertain trade offers for his services.
Per Amico, the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers could look to make a run at him if that’s the case (via NBACentral).

Ingram is a very good player with some defensive upside and the ability to knock down shots from all three levels.
However, he struggled under the bright lights in Los Angeles and has had a tendency to underperform in big moments, such as the FIBA World Cup and the postseason.
Still, he could be a second or third scoring option for a contending team, which is why the Sixers would make perfect sense for him as a significantly better version of Tobias Harris.
As for the Cavaliers, he’d be a nice fit alongside Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, assuming they manage to keep both of them and trade Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen instead.
Whatever the case, it seems like the Pelicans will look to get players who are more durable and can stay on the court come playoff time, as they also have the same issue with Zion Williamson.
