The Cleveland Browns added two familiar faces on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, they won’t be able to take the field next season, or ever.

Recently, the team took to Twitter to announce that WR Rashard Higgins and LB Christian Kirksey would sign one-day contracts to retire with the organization.

Higgins was a fifth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

He spent six seasons with the organization, making 82 appearances and hauling in 137 receptions for 1,890 yards and 12 scores.

While his production wasn’t particularly spectacular, he quickly became a fan favorite and a beloved member of the locker room as well.

He was also quite active in the community.

Kirksey, on the other hand, also played six years with the Browns after being selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He made 73 appearances and logged 463 tackles, 16 interceptions, 16 passes defended, 11.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries over that span.

Kirksey became a team captain in the backend of his tenure in Cleveland, and he was third in the league in tackles in 2016 (143), and fourth in 2017 (138).

He was a former winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award with both the Browns and the Texans, also being known for his charity work and his philanthropic activity.
