The future of the NBA is in very good hands based on what fans have seen from a few rookies this year.
There are a number of young players who are looking to make their mark on the league and some who have gotten off to a great start in 2023-24.
Of course, Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is front-and-center this year and is shocking everyone with his skills.
But Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder is also doing unbelievable things.
StatMuse uncovered the fact that Wembanyama and Holmgren are the only two rookies in NBA history to average 1.5 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers per game.
This shows that these two could truly be the future of the league and are in tough competition for this season’s Rookie of the Year.

When the season started, nearly everyone assumed that Wembanyama would sail to earning Rookie of the Year.
And his numbers have definitely made a strong case for that honor, as he has put up 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, and a league-high 3.2 blocks per game.
But Holmgren has given Wembanyama some unexpected competition and he is averaging 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during his first official year in the league.
These are the two best rookies in the NBA and they are very similar in many ways.
Their size and their skill sets are alike and it is fascinating to think about how they could affect the league in the years to come.
Will their success lead to a stronger focus on dominant big men who can both shoot and block?
No matter who wins Rookie of the Year, no one can deny that these two rookies are quite literally having historic seasons.
