The Washington Commanders can finally get off to a fresh start with the team getting the 2023 NFL season underway on Sunday after a drama-filled offseason in which longtime owner Daniel Snyder sold the team to Josh Harris and his ownership group that includes NBA legend, Magic Johnson.

Not a single snap has been taken yet during the Harris era of the Commanders, but things are already starting to look up for the storied NFL franchise ahead of their season opener against the Arizona Cardinals at FedExField.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, things are trending in the right direction for the Commanders to start the 2023 campaign, with the team pulling out all the stops for Week 1 while also having some NFL legends and NBA superstars in attendance for their showdown with the Cardinals.

In the first game for #Commanders owner Josh Harris, there will be more than half-price hot dogs and increased usage of Legends Plaza:
— Legends like Sonny Jurgenson and Champ Bailey, plus celebs like Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid, will be there.
— There was a $40M investment…

Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns and reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers being on hand for Week 1 is obviously a step in the right direction, as the team has created some buzz for what the future might hold in the nation’s capital.

As a Washington, D.C. native, Durant has been a longtime superfan of the franchise and could be seen at games more often than not, as he may finally have something to root for if Harris’ plans to turn things around come to fruition.

Fortunately for the Commanders, the Cardinals aren’t expected to put up much of a fight in Week 1 with Kyler Murray on the mend and the team at the beginning of a rebuilding phase, which means it could be an exciting day for Harris and company.
