Under Danny Ainge, the Utah Jazz have seemingly tried to compete but to no avail.
They stacked up some good players together, but their fit seems to be questionable.
More than that, they’re stuck in a tough spot, as they’re not good enough to make the playoffs, nor bad enough to land a top prospect in the lottery.
Ainge knows that, which is why most people think he’s going to pull the plug and just go with the young players.
Needless to say, that means Lauri Markkanen could be up for grabs.
Considering that, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports that both the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors could look to make a run at him (via Evan Sidery).
The Spurs and Warriors are among the teams showing interest in trading for Lauri Markkanen, per @WindhorstESPN (https://t.co/cogsObv8Zd).

Following a slow start to his career, Markkanen broke out in Utah and should be in for a big payday in the near future.
He’s currently in the final year of his contract, so if he doesn’t plan on staying in Utah, it only makes sense that they make him available now.
His fit next to Victor Wembanyama would be quite solid on offense, as they can both stretch the floor, score from all three levels, and dominate the glass.
Also, Wembanyama could hide some of his defensive flaws.
As for the Warriors, he could be a perfect small-ball five for them, with Draymond Green also making up for his defensive shortcomings.
Whatever the case, don’t be shocked if the former Chicago Bulls forward finds a new home before the start of the upcoming campaign.
