It’s safe to say that things haven’t gone according to plan for the New York Yankees early on this season.

They sit at the .500 mark and are also at the bottom of the American League East.

However, there have been a few bright spots.

Two pitchers in particular have been pitching quite well.

Both pitchers are key pieces in the Yankees bullpen.

Right-handers Ian Hamilton and Michael King have provided some much-needed stability in New York’s bullpen.

In fact, their numbers are almost identical.

Both have posted a 1.72 ERA over 15.2 innings of work.

King has a FIP of 2.18, while Hamilton has a FIP of 2.30.

These numbers are almost identical.

King has been a reliable piece in the Yankees bullpen since his arrival in 2019.

Before his season-ending injury in 2022, King was 6-3 with a 2.29 ERA in 34 appearances.

Hamilton, on the other hand, has pitched with both the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins.

Up until this season, his numbers haven’t been great.

He posted a 4.50 ERA in 2018 with the White Sox and posted the same mark in 2020.

He appeared in just one game last season and had an ERA of 6.75 with the Twins.

But the young right-hander appears to have figured something out and is pitching quite well for the Yankees.

These two right-handers have been bright spots for the Yankees amidst their tough start and are helping provide stability in the bullpen.
