The 2024 Olympics have been over for only a day but people are already thinking of Team USA and 2028.
The Los Angeles Olympics will obviously feature some of the biggest stars in the NBA but who will make the cut?
According to Evan Sidery, at least three league stars are expected to enjoy their Team USA debut in 2028.
He is reporting that Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, and Cooper Flagg will all participate in the next Olympics, although it’s likely other new stars will sign up too.

Team USA will transform between now and then.
LeBron James is most definitely out of the running because he will be retired in four years, and the same is likely true for Kevin Durant and Steph Curry.
How can Team USA still quest for a gold medal without those three players?
They will need to rely on Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton, and other young stars who have already appeared in the big games.
But they will also turn to newcomers, such as Banchero, Holmgren, and Flagg.
Flagg isn’t even in the NBA yet so his entry on this list proves just how much faith the league already has in him.
As for Banchero and Holmgren, they have shown their dominance in the NBA and are no-brainers for the 2028 games.
What other athletes could join these three?
There is still plenty of time before the Olympics but the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar will give a preview of what Team USA could look like in 2028.
