For years, NBA scouts have talked ill about this draft class.

The class of 2024 has been deemed as one of the weakest and least impressive in years — if not ever.

Even so, it seems like multiple teams still like what they see near the top of the lottery.

According to a report by Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Toronto Raptors are all trying to trade up (via Evan Sidery).

Apparently, the Blazers want to secure two picks in the first ten selections, as they already have the No. 7 pick.

They also have the No. 14 pick, via the Golden State Warriors, so if they get what they want, they could have as many as three selections in the lottery.

The Raptors would’ve been on the clock at No. 8, but they lost their first-round pick in a trade to the San Antonio Spurs, and they currently have the No. 19 pick via the Indiana Pacers, so it makes sense that they want to get into the lottery.

As for the Cavaliers, they’re currently in possession of the No. 20 selection.

Given the lack of depth, first-round picks won’t be as valuable or highly coveted in 2024, so chances are that we’ll get to see several transactions go down in the next weeks, at least way more than usual.
