The Philadelphia 76ers were supposed to be in the Eastern Conference Finals this season.

Nick Nurse had his team playing great basketball, and Tyrese Maxey took a huge leap.

Joel Embiid was the reigning MVP and looked poised to repeat this season before a knee injury got in his way.

Nonetheless, the Sixers are still in a privileged position and should be a very good team for years to come.

They have plenty of money and assets to pull off a big signing or a trade, and it seems like they’re shooting for the stars right now.

According to a report by Sixers insider Keith Pompey, Daryl Morey’s shortlist of targets includes several stars (via Courtside Buzz).

While Paul George is reportedly their top priority, they have also set their sights on the likes of LeBron James, OG Anunoby, Jimmy Butler, Zach LaVine, and Brandon Ingram.

James, like George, could opt out of his contract to become a free agent, and Anunoby will also enter free agency, although the New York Knicks will reportedly exhaust all avenues to keep him in town.

As for Ingram, Butler, and LaVine, they’ve all been rumored to be available over the past couple of months.

Butler has a history with Embiid and they were great together, but the other two come with injury concerns.

Whatever the case, it seems like Daryl Morey and the Sixers won’t be playing around this summer, and another star will find its way to the City of Brotherly Love.
