The Philadelphia 76ers keep making moves.
However, there are only so many roster spots for Nick Nurse’s team, so someone joining the party means another guy has to leave.
That’s what happened to Paul Reed.
According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers have decided to waive their energetic PF/C, whose contract is non-guaranteed next season.

This comes on the heels of the team also signing Miami Heat veteran Caleb Martin, who’s going to bring his playoff experience, defense, and shooting to a team that will strive to win an NBA championship right out of the gate.
Reed was a key contributor off the bench for the Sixers last season.
He didn’t get much playing time under Doc Rivers, but Nurse trusted him during Joel Embiid’s injury.
He brings plenty of energy on both ends of the glass, and while he’s undersized for a big man, he makes up for his lack of size with his sheer athleticism and hops.
Reed should have several suitors in the free-agent market as a cheap veteran who can grab some rebounds and finish above the rim.
The Sixers, however, will need to add more depth to the center spot behind Embiid, who’s struggled with injuries throughout the course of his entire career.
Once again, his health will make or break the Sixers’ season, although adding Paul George to the mix will clearly do wonders for their case to take down the Boston Celtics and make it back to the NBA Finals for the first time in two decades.
