Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Philadelphia 76ers is very thankful to be healthy and also very thankful to be back with his team.
The forward was shockingly hit by a car a few weeks ago, which obviously could have resulted in a critically serious injury.
But Oubre bounced back and is about to join his team on the court again.
Speaking with NBC Sports Philadelphia, Oubre said that “everything happens for a reason” and that the accident was a “minor setback for a major comeback.”
He is clearly excited about suiting up with the Sixers again and is very touched by the outpouring of support from his team and fans.

Oubre said that the city of Philadelphia showed nothing but strong support for him during this trying time.
He also gave a shoutout to his team, including Tyrese Maxey, who has been performing so well without Oubre.
Oubre also mentioned head coach Nick Nurse, who visited Oubre at home and played with his daughter during the recovery process.
It sounds as if Oubre feels beyond comfortable with his new team and fits in with his squad very well.
He came over to the 76ers in the offseason and has immediately done some great things for the team.
He was averaging 16.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game and is playing well alongside Joel Embiid, Maxey, and the rest of the crew.
This was an addition to the team that was smart and could pay off very well far into the future.
Everyone was scared when they heard the news of Oubre’s accident and was so happy to see him recovering.
Now he is back, healthy, and inspired to help his team shine.
