The devoted fans of the Green Bay Packers seem to be on pins and needles these days.

When will future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has been the face of the franchise since 2008, be traded to the New York Jets?

Could Rodgers, by any chance, stay in Green Bay for at least one more year?

Brian Gutekunst, the Packers’ general manager, gave some journalists in Phoenix some updates on the Rodgers saga.

#Packers GM Brian Gutekunst just met with a small group of media here in Phoenix.

– No timeline on trading Aaron Rodgers, hoping soon
– Doesn’t necessarily need a first-round pick
– Any chance Rodgers plays for GB again? Not trending that way but “all options are on the table”

He said there is no timeline on Rodgers’ seemingly pending trade to the Jets, and that the Packers don’t necessarily need to receive a first-round draft pick in return, as many have expected.

Gutekunst even hinted that there could be a minute chance that Rodgers won’t get traded at all when he said “all options are on the table.”

Once Brett Favre unretired in 2008 and joined (ironically) the Jets in something of a protest move when told he wasn’t guaranteed the QB1 spot, Rodgers took over under center and put together an impressive resume.

But some feel his career has been a bit of a disappointment.

He led Green Bay to a Super Bowl championship in just his third year as a starter, but since then, the team has failed to get back to the big game despite multiple appearances in the NFC Championship Game since.

At age 39, Rodgers could be in decline after a lackluster 2022 campaign.

If he is indeed on his way to New York, he will be joining a young and fairly talented squad, but at the same time, he will relocate to an extremely competitive AFC East and a very deep conference.
