NBA fans from all over the world were looking forward to another Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets matchup.
These games have become must-watch television lately, as they feature the top-two MVP candidates, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.
Embiid outplayed Jokic in Philadephia the last time they faced each other, and he seemingly took multiple shots at the two-time MVP in a recent interview with The Athletic.
That’s why it was so disappointing to see that the Sixers decided to rest Embiid for their game in Denver, allegedly to prevent injury ahead of the first round of the playoffs.
Embiid hasn’t played in Denver since 2019 due to either injury or injury management, so local fans didn’t waste the chance to poke fun at the big man.
A couple of young Nuggets fans were spotted with a missing person sign featuring Embiid’s face that read: Description: No MVPs, No First Team All-Stars, Tall.

Unsurprisingly, the Nuggets got back at Philly with an emphatic win at home, but it just wasn’t the same without their best player on the floor.
Embiid had recently moved ahead of Jokic in the MVP race, and some believe that the Sixers intentionally did this to keep things that way.
However, him missing the game actually hurt his odds of winning the award, according to Las Vegas.
This has been an MVP race for the ages, and while Jokic leads nearly every player in most advanced stats, Embiid’s raw numbers are also pretty remarkable, so it seems like voters can’t go wrong either way this time.
