Throughout his NBA career, Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan did a lot of things.

He was a 14-time All-Star, a ten-time scoring champion, and, of course, a six-time NBA champion and six-time Finals MVP.

One of the biggest nights of his tenure in the league came 33 years ago when he scored a career-high 69 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Those 69 points were met by 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

On Tuesday, fans throughout the NBA used this anniversary as a chance to both praise Jordan and detract from his legacy.

There were plenty of people who were stunned by the numbers that Jordan put up.

One fan was particularly impressed by the amount of rebounds, saying, “18 boards kinda wild.”

There were some who said that Jordan’s big night was a prime example of stat-padding but there was plenty of pushback against that idea.

“It’s not like he was just scoring. He was rebounding and playing defense as well. He had so much energy,” said one defender.

Get it corrected, it’s not like he was just scoring. He was rebounding and playing defense as well. He had so much energy.

While there were many people who took time to remember the big game from Jordan, plenty of others focused on current stars and if they’d be able to rival His Airness.

“Damian Lillard could have done this,” tweeted Per Sources.

Meanwhile, another fan said, “Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Donovan Mitchell dropped 71 points against the bulls.”

As great as he is, the debate around Jordan will always rage.

People will constantly compare Jordan, who played decades ago, to the athletes leading the league right now.

People will bring up stats, victories, and the number of championship rings.

But no one can deny that 69 points are a lot for a single game.
