It’s been a tough couple of years for the New England Patriots and their fans.
Obviously, the transition from a Hall of Fame quarterback — and arguably the greatest player in NFL history — would come with some growing pains, but the franchise isn’t used to not going through deep postseason runs.
Some are starting to wonder whether Bill Belichick was as good as we all thought he was when Tom Brady was around.
And even owner Robert Kraft didn’t commit when asked about Belichick’s future with the organization.
However, according to NFL insider Mike Reiss, the legendary coach has a pretty strong argument to make fans believe and be optimistic again next season: 25 years of success.
Question: What would you say to fans to be optimistic for what’s ahead for the Patriots?
Bill Belichick: “The last 25 years.”

There’s no denying that the Patriots were the ruling force in the NFL for over two decades, so Belichick has earned his stripes, his bragging rights, and the right to have the benefit of the doubt.
But it’s also a fact that he messed up big time last season by asking Matt Patricia to call the plays on offense, and the team has also failed to give Mac Jones the kind of weapons he needs to thrive.
Patriots fans should plead allegiance to Belichick, and they should be patient as the team goes through a bit of a transition phase.
But the sports business is ruthless, and the past doesn’t matter to most fans and organizations, so no one — not even one of the best coaches of all time — is safe from getting the boot if things don’t go their way.
