The Dallas Cowboys have had a very strong offseason so far.

They have made a few impact moves that will certainly help their chances in 2023.

But, one spot they have not addressed much over the past few years is quarterback.

Dallas has their franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott and a reliable backup in Cooper Rush.

We saw the best of Rush last season when he stepped in and won the Cowboys four games.

He proved to be a solid backup quarterback and someone the Cowboys wanted to keep around.

That is why they agreed to a two-year deal with him this offseason.

But, that does not mean the Cowboys will not invest in another quarterback during the draft.

According to Tom Pelissero, Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell is having a private workout with the Cowboys.

O’Connell also has private visits and workouts set up with the #Jets, #Raiders, #Saints, #Bengals, #Colts and #Bears, and has Zoomed with 10 other teams. Busy month for the Shrine Bowl standout.

O’Connell is not expected to be much more than a day-three pick.

But, that is all the Cowboys want to invest in the position anyway.

He could come in as the third-string quarterback and learn from Rush and Prescott.

More often than not, any quarterback selected on day three will be a career backup.

But, there is always a slim chance you can find a diamond in the rough.

The Cowboys did that when they drafted Prescott in the fourth round.

It might be worth taking another signal caller with a late-round pick.

Dallas does not have many holes to fill on their roster after a successful start to free agency.

So they can take a swing on a quarterback in the late rounds and hope for the best.
