It appears the NFL has made a fairly drastic change to how teams in the league shape their rosters in training camp, which is getting quite the reaction from one NFL star in particular.
According to NFL Insider Dov Kleiman, the process of cutting players in training camp will happen all at once rather than be a gradual process, like seen on HBO’s Hard Knocks over the years.
Rule Change: NFL team will now cut over 1,000 players in one day, on August 29, which is after the final preseason game.
Previously teams had cut their rosters from 90 to 75 first, and then later on from 75 to 53. pic.twitter.com/b7UFZR2IJE

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons reacted to the news, and he’s likely one of many around the league that had a similar reaction to the news.
However, Parsons is likely in no danger of worrying about being cut by the Cowboys in this fashion.

This will completely change the way business is done in the NFL during training camp, but it remains to be seen how teams react to this new rule and whether players can be cut before the roster has to be chopped down to a maximum of 53 players.
Perhaps the most interesting part of this new process in the NFL will be how things are done on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
It’ll be interesting to see how teams or the team on the HBO series will handle the new rule and what problems it may cause for teams and players.
Getting cut early in the process or in the second wave can allow players to get picked up elsewhere.
The same will likely go for this new rule, but there’s no telling whether it may impact the jobs given or how practice squads are put together moving forward.
