The Green Bay Packers are expecting to start next season with a new starting quarterback.
Even though Aaron Rodgers is on the roster, the Packers plan to move forward with Jordan Love.
If everything goes as planned, Rodgers will be traded to the New York Jets before the NFL Draft.
It makes sense that the Packers want to see what they have in Love.
After all, he was their first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He was drafted that high to be the successor to Rodgers.
This upcoming season will be the first time Love gets to show what he can do.
But, many Packers fans should temper their expectations for their new starter.
Green Bay has been spoiled by having elite quarterback play over the last 30 years.
First, it was Brett Favre and then Rodgers, and now Love gets his chance.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told fans to not expect Love to play at a level similar to Rodgers.

Love has started one game in his career up to this point.
That was a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021.
But, stepping in for Rodgers at certain points last season gave fans a reason for hope.
There is no guarantee Love will be the next in line for great Packers quarterbacks.
But, Green Bay is willing to give him a chance to show what he can do.
