The National Football League continues to find ways to annoy the players year in and year out.
While league owners won’t agree on Thursday Night Football games being flexed, they will allow several teams to have a maximum of two games on Thursday night.
This is a major blow for those teams, as they will now have to play with little-to-no rest twice a season, leading to more injuries and more traveling.
More than that, that would also mean that some lesser teams wouldn’t have a single game on a short week, giving them a huge edge in terms of scheduling.
Also, back-to-back games played on Thursday night, such as a Thanksgiving game followed by a regular TNF matchup, would only count as one short-week game, thus leaving the door open for a third game on Thursday night.
Needless to say, the players were far from satisfied with this proposal, with Kansas City Chiefs duo Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Patrick Mahomes taking to Twitter to show their discontent with this move.

Notably, this might be a league response to last season’s dreadful TNF games.
The Thursday Night Football schedule was mostly terrible, and having the Denver Broncos in primetime slots often did little to appease the fans.
But this kind of decision is only going to hurt the players, thus hurting the product as well.
The players had been pushing to get rid of TNF games all along, and now you’re telling them they could play up to three games on a Thursday night?
