The Kansas City Chiefs are the latest Super Bowl champions, and many considered them to have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL.
Even Super Bowl champions need to grow their rosters for the future, however.
The Chiefs’ first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft will be 31st overall, and many have pointed to the cornerback position as an area of potential growth.
Ahead of April’s draft, the Chiefs have recently brought in a top prospect, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Potential first round CB Cam Smith of South Carolina kicks off a busy next few weeks starting with a trip to the defending Super Bowl champion #Chiefs today, source says.

Cam Smith is going to visit the Chiefs, the first team that he will meet with ahead of the draft.
Smith was a four-year collegiate athlete, although, he only saw significant playing time from 2020-2022.
Last season, Smith had 27 total tackles, 5 pass deflections, and one interception,
He has been touted as a top cornerback prospect in the upcoming draft class and could be the Chiefs’ lone first-round selection.
Last year, the Chiefs’ cornerback room featured Trent McDuffie, L’Jarius Sneed, and Jaylen Watson.
Sneed was the only Chiefs cornerback with NFL experience, as McDuffie and Watson were both rookies last year.
Despite their youth at the position, the Chiefs were able to get elite production out of their young players.
Smith profiles similarly to McDuffie, although, he is slightly taller.
If the Chiefs do end up drafting Smith, their track record proceeds them, and he should be in a great position to succeed in this well-run organization.
Will the Chiefs be able to make the necessary offseason additions to win back-to-back Super Bowls?
