Both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George sat out of the Los Angeles Clippers‘ game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

But that didn’t stop the Clippers from putting on a show and securing a big 141-132 win.

A major part of that pivotal victory was Russell Westbrook, who scored 36 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 assists while going 5-of-5 from beyond the three-point line.

Westbrook was a starter yet again and showed that he can still be a huge part of a team’s success.

The internet took note of his huge night.

There was tons of praise for Westbrook on Twitter, most of it remarking about how good he looks compared to his troubled tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Plenty of people took shots at the Lakers’ fanbase.

“Got rid of that toxic fan base and started cooking,” said one user.

Although Lakers fans were rarely very happy with Westbrook, some came out to support their former player after his strong showing.

“From a Laker fan, nice to see him do well,” said one Lakers follower.

Multiple Clippers fans noted that the team might be the fourth seed in the West thanks to the hard work of Westbrook, Robert Covington, Bones Hyland, and others.

Covington put up 27 points in the game while Hyland was solid with his 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Great game by the Clippers. Westbrook, Covington and Bones with big time performances. If Clippers finish the season with a 4 seed, this game will be a huge reason why, especially with Kawhi and George not playing. pic.twitter.com/z5Yq1VKtjn

There have been countless people wondering what Westbrook’s mentality would be like playing with the Clippers.

One user said that “it’s like he’s back in OKC with no expectations.”

Good for him. It’s like he is back in OKC with no expectations. Glad he got to shine without Kawhi and Paul

Westbrook hasn’t completely shaken off the inconsistency issues he has but he has shown the Clippers’ fanbase a lot of greatness.

The fact that he was able to lead his team to a victory without both Leonard and George was a huge, impressive accomplishment and statement.
