It’s been an unforgettable season for the Sacramento Kings, and on Wednesday, rising star Keegan Murray gave Kings fans another moment to remember.
During Sacramento’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, the 22-year-old knocked down his 188th 3-pointer of the season, the most ever for a rookie.

Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell, who spent his rookie season with the Utah Jazz back in the 2017-18 campaign, was the previous record holder with 187 triples made in his first year.
The title now belongs to Murray, who will surely find his way into the history books many more times as his NBA career continues.
The 2022 lottery pick is having a very impressive rookie season.
He’s averaging 11.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.
In Wednesday’s game, the youngster finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and one assist.
He’s also going to get some valuable playoff experience in the 2023 postseason, as the Kings officially punched their ticket to the playoffs on Wednesday.

The NBA’s 3-point record for rookies will likely be broken over and over again as the game continues to evolve.
But for now, Murray gets to say that no rookie in the history of the league has made more 3-pointers than him.
He and the Kings will be back in action on Friday for a second straight game against the Trail Blazers.
Sacramento has just six games remaining in the regular season before the team’s highly anticipated playoff journey will begin.
