The entire NBA world is talking about the Los Angeles Lakers and their win over the Chicago Bulls.
Gaining the most attention is the fact that the entire roster played well and seemed healthy and determined.
This has some wondering if the team is peaking at the right time and could have serious postseason success, despite still fighting to make the play-in games.
NBA analyst Jay Williams liked what he saw on Wednesday night and is making big claims about LA.
“That is a team last night that can win a world championship. Mark it down,” Williams said on ESPN’s Get Up.

Williams was singling out the team’s strong defense, Anthony Davis’ output, the supporting players, and the fact that – for now – the entire team is healthy for the first time in a long time.
As you can imagine, many people online didn’t quite agree with Williams’ hot take.
“Yes marked it down like the Titanic,” one user said with laughing and thumbs-down emojis.

Some people argued that the Lakers have had an easy schedule over the last month, which has helped prop them up but not prepare them for the playoffs.
“I don’t believe they are beating any of the top teams 4 out of 7 times,” one user said.
The last month or so LA has had the easiest schedule in the NBA. They are taking advantage of that so good for them on that part but no I don’t believe they are beating any of the top teams 4 out of 7 times.

Many just can’t see this Lakers team taking down the Denver Nuggets, who are still the top team in the West.
If the draw Denver they get swept or lose in 5

Some fans complimented the Lakers but said that analysts are too quick to “say this team has been ready to fly before they even started walking.”
These people suggested that the Lakers could be great in time but they are not fully prepared for winning a championship yet.
People have been ready to say this team has been ready to fly before they ever started walking.
The trades were them standing, the vast improvement especially on D is walkin at a fast pace lol. But thats where they are now. Run & flying is title contention, they ain’t there yet.

Finally, numerous people made a very obvious but fair point: the Lakers aren’t yet even in the playoffs.
They will have to prove their mettle and actually make the postseason before they can prove Williams right or wrong.
Have to make it in the playoffs first

The next few games will be crucial for LA.
They have had a rough season but seem to be getting things together when it matters most.
