Earlier this season, NBA fans criticized Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Clippers for telling players to “just keep having fun.”
On Wednesday night, he had fun and walked away with a big win, showing that maybe he was onto something.
Westbrook led his Clippers to a strong victory over the Memphis Grizzlies with 36 points, 10 assists, and a perfect 5-of-5 record from the three-point line.
Following the game, he was nothing but smiles as he entered the Clippers locker room.

The entire team was there to give Westbrook high fives, handshakes, pats on the back, and praise.
As for Westbrook, he looked very happy, calm, and satisfied with his work.
Westbrook was looking for a new start when he moved from the Lakers to the Clippers back in February.
Since joining his latest team, he has averaged 15.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.5 assists.
Those numbers are closely in line with what he was doing for the Lakers (15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists).
But what sets them apart is that they have been achieved with Westbrook as a starter once again.
NBA followers remember that he was moved to the Lakers’ bench after the tough start of the season.
Since coming to the Clippers, however, Westbrook has become a starter again and seems to be doing much better in that role now.
He is not without faults and still makes some of the mistakes he’s infamous for.
But Westbrook seems happier playing for the Clippers and that is making a difference.
He is much more comfortable in this locker room and it’s leading to improved output on the court.
