Kyrie Irving Has Harsh Words For The Mavericks’ Playoff Outlook

The Dallas Mavericks are currently out of playoff contention and time is quickly running out.

They are the 11th seed in the West with a 37-40 record and have just five games to go before the play-in tournament begins.

While the team is only one game out of the play-in games, they aren’t giving many reasons to believe they can turn things around.

Even star player Kyrie Irving doesn’t seem too optimistic about where things stand for his team right now.

It’s never good to hear one of the best players on a team give such a bleak statement.

But no one is disagreeing with Irving.

The team has lost 8 of their last 11 games and is making serious mistakes again and again.

Even when Irving and Luka Doncic are scoring double-digits, the team still finds a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and there is only so much time left in the season.

The addition of Irving in February was supposed to make the Mavericks even stronger but the exact opposite has happened and they have plummeted.

This isn’t entirely the fault of Irving – multiple things aren’t working out for the team.

Now the question is if they can bounce back before April 9.

They are set to face the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs in their final five games of the regular season.

At this point, every single game counts a lot for this team who made it to the Western Conference Finals less than a year ago.
