For years, the Los Angeles Rams struggled to live up to their potential.
Sean McVay and the front office had put together a bit of a juggernaut, yet the QB position was the missing piece they needed to achieve their ultimate goal.
That’s why it wasn’t surprising to see them go the distance and win the Super Bowl in Matthew Stafford’s very first season with the team.
Conversely, Stafford’s health issues took a massive toll on their chances of competing last season, once again showing how crucial he was to the team.
Notably, the Rams did right by the former first-overall pick and paid him back for finally lifting them past the rest of the league.
They signed him to a big extension with a $60 million signing bonus, half of which was deferred.
Now, NFL insider Field Yates reports that Stafford is getting the second half of that money today, so it might be a good time to pay the Staffords a visit.
A nice Friday for Rams QB Matthew Stafford: he is due a $30M deferred signing bonus payment by today as part of the extension he signed last offseason.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Stafford’s future in the league.
Some reports stated that his elbow injury is way more complicated than originally reported, citing that he’s still in pain and physically limited.
They even claimed that the former Detroit Lions standout was considering retirement, but it’s been a while since we last heard anything about that matter.
The Rams might not be the same dominant team of old next season, but they’ll continue to be a threat for as long as Stafford is under center.
