Things are looking incredibly bad for the Dallas Mavericks right now.
After climbing toward the top months ago, the team is currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
This comes after weeks of sloppy play and avoidable losses even with the new addition of Kyrie Irving.
NBA analyst Chris Broussard came straight out and said what many other people are thinking.
Speaking on First Things First, Broussard put it plainly: “The Dallas Mavericks will miss the play-in.”

To qualify for the play-in games, the Mavericks will need to sneak up to the tenth spot in their conference.
As noted by Broussard, they have some tough games for the rest of the season, against multiple teams that are also trying to secure their spots in the postseason.
He did say that there’s a chance the Mavs could bounce back hard in the final five games and go on a strong winning streak.
But there simply isn’t any evidence in recent history to make that seem likely.
Instead, many Mavericks fans are coming to terms with the fact that this team, who were in the Western Conference Finals last season, might miss the play-in and playoffs entirely.
If that happens, they will be crying out for some serious changes.
Their final games of the regular season are against the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs.
With a tough 37-40 record behind the 38-39 Oklahoma City Thunder, things are looking very bleak for the Mavs.
If there was ever a time for Irving, Luka Doncic, and the rest of the team to come together, get on track, and play like a cohesive unit, it is now.
