The youth movement is certainly underway.
So many talented young players made their MLB debuts on Thursday.
The debuts of Volpe, Walker, and Yoshida were the most highly anticipated, and they certainly didn’t disappoint.
It was quite a day for the future of baseball and it gave fans a good look at who will be leading the charge for the next generation of young talent.
There were two debuts in the Opening Day matchup between the Cardinals and the Toronto Blue Jays.
While St. Louis gave Walker the start in right field, Toronto brought in 28-year-old Nathan Lukes to pinch run for Brandon Belt at second base.
In the game between the Yankees and San Francisco Giants, there was another debut in addition to Volpe’s, as Blake Sabol started in left field for San Francisco.
The youth movement is on, and it’s time to see what the next generation of baseball talent has to offer.
