After several seasons of false starts, missed opportunities, and too much controversy, Kevin Durant’s time with the Brooklyn Nets came to an end back in February.
In a blockbuster trade that could change the NBA, Durant headed to the Phoenix Suns and left the future of the Nets in limbo.
Unsurprisingly, many fans of the Nets were very hurt by Durant’s departure and felt that he gave up on the team.
But Durant still wants only the very best for his former squad.
According to NBA Retweet, Durant had nothing but kind words and well wishes for the Nets.
“I want the best for that organization. I wanted the best for us every game,” he said.
Durant continued, “I hated it had to go down like that.”
He concluded, “I wasn’t trying to prove the Nets is a s—-y organization. I was trying to prove that the Nets are a great organization.”
If Kevin Durant feels some type of way after leaving Brooklyn:
“Nah. He— nah. I want the best for that organization. I wanted the best for us every game. I hated it had to go down like that. I wasn’t trying to prove the Nets is a s—ty organization. I was trying to prove that the… pic.twitter.com/03IMkOg9tI

If someone ever writes a book about what went wrong with the Nets, it’ll be an interesting read.
The team had the highest hopes when they signed both Durant and Kyrie Irving just a few seasons ago.
And things only got better when James Harden, Blake Griffin, and others were added to the team.
But the team couldn’t accumulate a lot of wins and they were continually coming up short and not having the sort of postseason success that was expected.
In the end, it wasn’t that shocking that Durant wanted to leave, especially after Irving departed for the Dallas Mavericks.
Durant has repeatedly said that he valued his time with the Nets and loves the men he played with and the coaches he played for.
However, that might be cold comfort for the Brooklyn fans he left behind.
