There has been a lot of talk about the Los Angeles Lakers lately and, for the first time in a long time, the talk has been mostly positive.
The team has been playing hard and is now the eighth team in the Western Conference, on the verge of making the play-in tournament.
And while most teams wouldn’t be very satisfied with that position, numerous people think they could be a serious threat in the playoffs.
NBA legend Isiah Thomas is one of those people.
Appearing on the NBA on TNT, Thomas stated a case for the Lakers:
“A month ago, we had the Lakers dead and now they’re 8th. I forget who said nobody fears LeBron. Them seven teams, one through seven, there’s not one team that’s saying ‘I want to play LeBron and the Lakers in the first round.’”

Thomas joins others who are saying that while they were once counted out, the Lakers could be a team to watch in the weeks ahead.
The team has a lot of experience – especially with LeBron James and Anthony Davis – and has been in the playoffs numerous times.
But they also have a new and improved younger group with some important role players who are adding new energy and life to the roster.
The team has been looking much better since the trade deadline in February.
Plus, they are fully healthy for the first time in what feels like ages.
That means that a healthy James and Davis could be leading a determined and driven young squad looking to prove itself.
There will be many challenges and nothing is assured but more than a few people are saying that the Lakers are heating up when it counts most.
