The NFL made a change back in 2021 to allow all players in the league that aren’t offensive or defensive linemen to be able to wear numbers one through 49.
Now the league has taken things a step further when it comes to jersey numbers players can wear moving forward, with the NFL approving the addition of No. 0.
According to Dallas Cowboys Network, safety Jayron Kearse of the Dallas Cowboys has chosen to change from No. 27 to No. 0 starting next season.

This is an interesting development, with Cowboys superstar linebacker Micah Parsons recently expressing his desire to wear No. 0.
If it were up to the team, Parsons would likely get what he wants because he’s arguably the new face of the franchise in Dallas, but maybe Kearse was adamant about making the change and discussed it with Parsons.
Along with Kearse, another prominent player has decided to make the change to No. 0, and he could definitely use a fresh start after what he’s been through.

No. 0 looks pretty cool on a jersey, and these two players are likely the first of many to make the switch.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the NFL softens its stances on other things in the years to come to make players happy or at least show that they appreciate its players and are willing to change things for them.
