Kevon Looney of the Golden State Warriors has been arguably having his best season ever.

Looney has stepped up in a big way, especially without Andrew Wiggins, and is now averaging 7.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists a game.

For comparison, he averaged 6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2 assists a game last season.

And now Looney has made a special type of NBA history.

According to WarriorsMuse, Looney is the only NBA player to have an offensive rebound percentage of 15% along with an assist percentage of 10% and a turnover percentage of under 10% in the same season.

For reference, each of those numbers are percents of his team, meaning that Looney has garnered 15% of the team’s offensive rebounds, 10% of their assists, and created less than 10% of their turnovers.

Looney has been a much more important part of the Warriors this season and has been fairly consistent, especially recently.

That is vital for the struggling reigning champions, who are currently sixth in the West and attempting to take a strong stand in the playoffs.

The Warriors have been ridiculed for their defensive skills but Looney has been a bright spot in that department.

He has been landing 5.8 defensive rebounds a game, which is a career-high for him.

The Warriors will need all of their players to perform very well in the weeks ahead if they hope to leave the troubled regular season behind and have a strong playoff run.

So far this season, multiple athletes on the roster have been hit or miss at times.

But Stephen Curry and Looney have been reliable.
