NFL Analyst Names A Cinderella Team For 2023

Last season, the NFL had a couple of Cinderella teams in the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants.

Not many expected either team to be solid, but they both won nine games and claimed playoff spots in the NFC.

The Giants even pulled off an upset by defeating the Minnesota Vikings, who had gone 13-4 in the regular season, in their first playoff contest.

Next season, it is looking very likely that the New Orleans Saints will be a Cinderella team, and NFL analyst Adam Schein agrees with that sentiment.

In 2022, the Saints were hoping to sneak into the playoffs, but quarterback Jameis Winston, a former No. 1 overall pick in 2015, was benched early in the campaign, and they ended up winning just seven contests.

But they have a new quarterback in Derek Carr, a four-time Pro Bowler, and the acquisition of running back Jamaal Williams, who had 1,066 rushing yards and a league-high 17 touchdowns in 2022, will provide insurance in case Alvin Kamara is unable to play due to his pending legal charges.

New Orleans is also hoping wide receiver Michael Thomas will finally return to form.

He made the Pro Bowl in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and in 2019 he led everyone with 1,725 receiving yards.

However, his last three seasons have been greatly marred by foot and ankle injuries.

Another reason for hope is wideout Chris Olave, who had a fine rookie season in 2022 with 1,042 yards.

With Tom Brady retiring, the NFC South looks rather weak, and therefore the Saints should be the early favorites to win the division.
