The Philadelphia 76ers are once again trying to get past the second round of the NBA playoffs after several disappointing seasons.

The so-called ‘process’ hasn’t worked out for the team, forcing them to part ways with big players and bring in new ones.

Joel Embiid is now joined by James Harden as the Sixers keep chasing that NBA championship, but the job won’t be easy by any means.

The Cameroonian-born player is ready to help his team go all the way to the Finals, but he knows that nothing is easy in this league.

Talking with Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Embiid discussed the expectations his team carries every season,

The center made it clear that (regardless of the lack of success), it’s better to be a contender every year than a struggling team.

“Obviously, you want to win a championship. But would you rather be in contention every year? Or would you [rather] be at the bottom and fighting to make the playoffs every single year?”

Ever since they drafted both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, this team looked ready to compete for championships.

Unfortunately, they’ve never gotten past the second round of the postseason, even though they’ve had stars like Jimmy Butler to help them win.

The front office has made several changes over the past couple of seasons, trying to put their hands on the championship trophy.

Now with James Harden, Embiid feels he’s in a good position to win it all.

The Sixers currently sit at 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings, boasting a 51-26 record.

They play the Milwaukee Bucks tonight, trying to get a big win to start the final week of the 2022-23 regular season.

Embiid is an MVP candidate and these next couple of games will be crucial for that race.
