In 1991, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Magic Johnson shocked the world when he announced he was retiring due to contracting HIV.
The news devastated NBA fans, as many believed at the time that contracting this disease was considered a death sentence, as he talked about many times since that fateful day.
Despite the odds being against him and most people expecting to see him succumb to his illness in the years to come, Johnson never gave up hope and dedicated himself to spreading awareness and beating the virus.
It’s now 2023, and Johnson, who is widely considered to be one of the most former athlete successful businessmen in the world, looks healthier than ever and seemingly hitting the weights on a regular basis, as many pointed out with his recent appearance on CBS.

Few success stories can compare to Johnson’s, as he’s defied the odds throughout his life and continues to inspire while looking jacked and full of energy.
Although he’s not in the public eye as much as he used to be after stepping down as a Lakers executive, Johnson remains as active as ever in the business world while accumulating assets left and right.
Along with being part of an ownership group for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks and Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), Johnson has set his sights on the NFL, with the 63-year-old joining another group in hopes of buying the Washington Commanders.
Johnson has kept himself busy and has no intention of slowing down in his business ventures or in the gym.
