The Orlando Magic might not be appearing in the playoffs this year but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a lot of promising players on the roster.
Young stars like Franz Wagner, Cole Anthony, Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, and others show that the future may be exciting for the Magic.
But there is one star shining brighter than the rest: Paolo Banchero.
The rookie star has been phenomenal all season long, including during the last 15 games.
In that period, Banchero has averaged 21.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 45% from the field and 39% from the three-point line.

For the season, Banchero has put up 20 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
When he entered the league this season, everyone was curious about how good Banchero would be.
He was the number one overall draft pick last June in a very competitive and exciting class.
Since then, he has gone on to be a huge asset for his team right out of the gate.
There are now numerous people saying that Banchero might be a lock for Rookie of the Year.
He will have some tough competition from players such as Keegan Murray, Bennedict Mathurin, Walker Kessler, and others.
But by most measurable aspects, Banchero is ahead of them all.
However, he is about to start an extra-long summer break.
His Magic are 12th in the East with a 34-44 record, which means they will not qualify for the playoffs.
That means they will have a lengthy offseason to practice, work on their roster, and get even better.
When the next season begins, Banchero will be leading his team with more authority and more experience.
He will no longer be a rookie but he will still be one of the most exciting young players in the NBA.
