Outside of the four quarterbacks expected to be taken in the first round of the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, no player has made more noise than Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Jalen Carter.
As if his recent brush with the law wasn’t enough of a distraction and deterrent to draft him, he and his agent have let it be known that they will not be meeting with any teams outside of the top 10 picks.
This a bold move and quite a gamble for a player that might be an off-the-field problem, but draft expert Todd McShay of ESPN believes the Seattle Seahawks may roll the dice on the 22-year-old at No. 5 overall.

At this point, there’s no telling where Carter might land, as it all depends on how teams look at the controversial defensive tackle regarding their draft boards.
The Seahawks could go in one of many directions at No. 5, with the team possibly considering a quarterback, as Pete Carroll and company are doing their due diligence with the top quarterbacks in the draft.
However, if they decide to address the defensive side of the football instead, Carter is a viable option if the team is willing to take the risk that he won’t become a distraction or a problem off the field.
With the first round of the draft still weeks away, anything can happen from here on out, as Carter could make matters worse or prove to teams that he’s worth using a high draft pick on.
The stance of the top teams in the draft will ultimately determine his position as it could very well be at the top of the draft, or he may fall considerably if the top ten teams aren’t interested in bringing him in.
