Brock Purdy took the NFL by storm in 2022, winning all six games he started for the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite being the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Purdy’s starting opportunity came after two of his teammates suffered injuries.

He suffered an injury of his own during the NFC Championship and has recently had surgery.

While Purdy is preparing himself to be the 49ers’ starter again in 2023, he has recently identified a weak spot in his game, which he will look to improve in the offseason.

Purdy recently appeared on Fox Sports 901’s “Roc and Maunch with Jimmy B.”

During this appearance, when asked about areas of improvement for his game, Purdy responded with, “Starting with the cons, just footwork.”

Later, Purdy cited “There were times last year where you could just tell I was still getting used to things, even when I was playing.”

It appears that Purdy has done a thorough deep dive into last year’s tape, preparing for the upcoming season.

Luckily for Purdy, he has several elite weapons at his disposal, including Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

Although Aiyuk and Samuel are both top-receiving options, their playstyles are vastly different.

Purdy spoke about this in the video, saying “The time of a slant with Brandon Aiyuk compared to Deebo Samuel, they’re two different types of routes.”

Although the results of Purdy’s surgery are still unknown, the 49ers will look to continue their success in 2023.
