After what appeared to be an ugly divorce between six-time All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner and the Seattle Seahawks, leading to the veteran signing with the Los Angeles Rams last year, the 32-year-old has surprisingly returned to rejoin Pete Carroll’s squad.
After the team unexpectedly released him to save money, Wagner seemed to be done with the Seahawks.
Now, in a strange twist of fate, the veteran linebacker is back in Seattle and actually took less money to return to the Seahawks.
The Seahawks almost made the mistake of letting money dictate the relationship with Wagner once again, as his former Seahawks teammate Richard Sherman has recently talked about.
Sherman was asked about his friend returning to Seattle and the impact it will have on the team moving forward.
Richard Sherman on @933KJR today talked about Bobby Wagner’s fit with the Seahawks. Said Bobby brings consistency, leadership & a difference maker in the middle of the defense
Also said Seattle initially lowballed Bobby to the point it was borderline disrespectful. pic.twitter.com/f9aC3IEY6n

The Legion of Boom era is over in Seattle, with a lot of those dominant defensive players having moved on or retired, so Wagner returning won’t exactly reignite the team into being the best defense in the NFL, but it is a veteran addition that will help this squad moving forward.
The Seahawks are in an interesting situation, as the team isn’t exactly rebuilding, but also isn’t a team that strikes fear in opponents in the way it used to.
However, the team seems to have a short-term fix at quarterback with the re-signing of Geno Smith and a solid team on both sidelines of the football in a division that could be up for grabs, especially if the San Francisco 49ers can’t put it together again.
