Peter Schrager Says 1 RB Prospect Should Be A Top-15 Pick

The running back position has become somewhat expendable in today’s National Football League.

The NFL is as pass-happy as it’ll ever be, so teams don’t value bell-cow RBs as much as they used to do.

It’s not easy for a guy in that position to get a lucrative long-term deal, even after impressing as a rookie.

Also, the physical burden the game takes on them is just too big to ignore, so teams are often hesitant to keep them around for long.

However, it’s also a fact that teams need to have a balanced offense and establish the running game to open up gaps for the wideouts.

With that in mind, they should be looking at landing a top-tier prospect at the RB position in the upcoming NFL Draft.

And according to NFL analyst Peter Schrager, there’s no better running back prospect this season than Bijan Robinson.

As a matter of fact, he thinks the Longhorns star is worthy of a top-15 selection, going as far as to say that there aren’t 15 players who are better than him, especially considering most of those teams are already set at the QB position.

Should a team consider selecting Bijan Robinson in the Top 15?

“This is a transcendent talent. I am typically against taking running backs in the Top 15. He is different. I’d applaud a team–against convention–taking Robinson that high.”

Schrager raved about Robinson’s impact, age, and God-given talents.

And even though he realizes that taking a running back in the top-15 is risky and unorthodox, he believes that Robinson could go on to become a transcendental player from day one.

Truth be told, it’s hard to argue with his assessment, and it’ll be interesting to see where this tackle-breaking machine ends up.
