Before their game on Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks had won just one of their last eight games.
They were in bad shape – and still are.
But the Mavs were able to pull off a big triumph over the Kings, scoring a 123-119 success that kept their hopes of making the play-in games barely alive.
Following the game, head coach Jason Kidd waxed poetic about the budding relationship between Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who scored 29 and 31 points, respectively.
“These two are meant to be together,” Kidd said.
He added, “It just takes time. As much as you guys wanna rush the process, it just takes time, that’s just nature. These are not robots or AI, these are human beings.”

The online response to Kidd’s words was swift.
There were many people who believed everything Kidd said and still have faith in the team while others were criticizing Kidd’s performance and pleaded with the front office to do more.
“Love JKidd but this man talking like he got all the time in the world,” one fan said, noting that the team is quickly coming to the end of the regular season.
There are many people who believe that if the season doesn’t turn around, Kidd could be losing his job.

In fact, some were openly rooting for this to happen.

It remains to be seen if Kidd’s job really is saved or if he is enjoying his last days as the head coach in Dallas.
