It was a true team effort for the New York Knicks on Wednesday night as they beat the Indiana Pacers, 138-129.
The biggest stars for the game were Immanuel Quickley with 39 points, Quentin Grimes with 36, and Obi Toppin with 32.
Their great performances had some Knicks fans once again relieved that the team didn’t make a monster trade during the summer.
KnicksMuse pointed out that the Knicks almost had a deal for Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in July that would have cost them Quickly, Grimes, Toppin, and Miles McBride, as well as six first-round draft picks.
“Never forget,” they tweeted.
“Those 4 players had 110 points tonight, and we would’ve had to add SIX 1st-Rounders on top of that,” they added.

The proposed deal was apparently “close” but obviously never amounted to anything.
At the time, most people believed that the Knicks would be the team to land Mitchell, who was clearly on the move from the Jazz.
But in the end, it would be the Cleveland Cavaliers who acquired the superstar.
Ironically, it is now that team that sits just ahead of the Knicks in the Eastern Conference standings.
The two teams will face off in the first round of the playoffs, finally putting to rest who had a more important and consequential offseason last summer.
The Knicks may not have added Mitchell as many expected, but they instead have a strong, deep roster and kept their draft picks too.
If they can overtake the Cavaliers at the start of the playoffs, the failure of this proposed trade will seem like even more of a blessing in disguise.
