The Detroit Lions are coming off one of the franchise’s best seasons in recent memory, with Jared Goff and company seemingly putting it together and coming just short of clinching a spot in the NFL playoffs.
Despite missing the postseason, the Lions finished the 2022 campaign with a record of 9-8 and ended up in second place in the NFC North division behind the Minnesota Vikings (13-4).
With head coach Dan Campbell bringing in a new culture to the Lions, the team has embraced it and was able to attract some free agents, including a familiar face in veteran wide receiver Marvin Jones.
Jones recently talked about what changes he’s seen since returning to the Lions, and it seems to be profound, to say the least.

With the Green Bay Packers on the verge of trading superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings being shaky at best after a playoff flameout, the Lions might be in a prime position to make a significant jump next season.
It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the Lions win the NFC North division title next season, with Goff leading the way and Campbell inspiring his squad to defy the odds and get to the postseason.
Detroit may no longer be looked at as an underdog or a team that can fly under the radar, which will work against this team on the rise, but if the culture holds and recent offseason additions pay dividends, the Lions will be a team to watch in 2023.
