The Phoenix Suns made a big gamble when they traded for Kevin Durant.
Giving up on Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson was a tough pill to swallow, but that’s the kind of move you make when a guy like KD suddenly becomes available.
And while Durant might not be there for as long as Bridges could’ve been, the early returns have given the fans plenty of reasons to be excited ahead of the playoffs.
Durant has been in and out of the lineup due to injuries, but the team is now officially 8-0 when he suits up.
Unsurprisingly, he’s been a major factor in all those wins despite not being a part of their system for long, and that was on full display in Thursday night’s matchup vs. the Denver Nuggets.
Durant was at his finest in his latest outing, scoring 29 points on 50% from the floor and 60% from beyond the arc, adding seven rebounds and four assists.

Needless to say, that left the fans wondering how good the Suns can be ahead of the playoffs, while others are still kind of skeptical about the team.

The Suns were in the NBA Finals just two seasons ago, and they were even up 2-0 on the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks.
Having a guy like KD would’ve turned the tables back in their favor, that’s for sure, especially considering how hurt Chris Paul was.
The Suns have no room for excuses this time around, though.
And it doesn’t seem like they’re going to need to make up any, either.
