The Dallas Mavericks should be worried about Luka Doncic’s future with the franchise.
He’s signed through the 2026-27 season and just played the first season of his massive five-year deal, but that doesn’t mean he intends to honor that contract.
Doncic has been visually frustrated as of late.
He wants to compete for an NBA championship, and the Mavs have failed to give him the weapons he needs to pull that off.
The Kyrie Irving trade didn’t do much to help their case.
If anything, it only made him even unhappier.
That’s why NBA analyst Nick Wright believes that the Mavs are eventually going to lose Doncic, going as far as to predict that he’s going to play for the Miami Heat.
“I do think the Mavs are going to lose Luka eventually.”

We can definitely envision Doncic in a Heat uniform.
Not only is he often spotted partying there, but that would also give him a chance to play for an elite coach, a winning organization, and an owner that won’t hesitate to go the extra mile and surround him with the players he needs to thrive.
The Heat have been in the market for another star for quite a while now.
They have the assets to at least try and make a run at Luka, although it doesn’t seem like he’s going to force his way out of the team just yet.
Even so, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him leave at some point, and that’s something Mark Cuban needs to have in the back of his mind with every single move the team makes from now on.
