Cincinnati Bengals star running back Joe Mixon continues to make the news, but not for good reasons.

In fact, he’s not even a part of the news cycles for football-related reasons or his potential release from the team.

Instead, people are now talking about Mixon because of his involvement in another gun-related incident.

A report by Cincinnati.com shared by NFL insider Dov Kleiman states that the Cincinnati PD has recharged the Bengals star.

He had been officially charged with aggravated menacing on February 2. after he was accused of pointing a gun at a woman during an incident, but the charges were quickly dismissed.

Now, the police’s investigation has determined to recharge him with a misdemeanor of the first degree, and he’s scheduled to appear in court on April 19.

The Cincinnati PD released a statement revealing new evidence that came up during their process, adding that they’re not allowed to share any further details from this ongoing situation.

The Bengals, on the other hand, also posted a statement of their own to let it be known that they’re aware of the charges filed against Mixon, citing that they wouldn’t add any further commentary at the moment.

Mixon has been a mainstay and one of the best offensive contributors during the team’s recent surge.

But he’s expected to make a lot of money next season, which was reason alone to think that the team could be tempted to part ways with him.

Now, given his involvement in multiple gun-related incidents in the offseason, it doesn’t seem like he’s going to play another snap for them in the future.
