The Baltimore Orioles opened their season against the Boston Red Sox and then faced the Texas Rangers.
Both of those series were played on the road.
They were starting a four-game set with the New York Yankees on Thursday, but the first game was postponed due to inclement weather.
Now, the series is going to start on Friday, and this one will be at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
It will be the home opener, and fans can’t wait.
The excitement in the city has carried over since last year, when the team unexpectedly went 83-79 and even fought for a spot in the postseason.
After so many mediocre years, the Orioles look ready to compete, and that’s excellent for baseball.
They will do so while being led by catcher and AL Rookie of the Year runner-up Adley Rutschman.
Rutschman himself told a cool story about how the city seems to be all-in with the team this season.
“Adley Rutschman said on his commute to Camden Yards today, someone pulled up next to him and was wearing a No. 35 jersey. They realized who was next to them and waved. Orioles fever, it’s spreading,” MLB insider Chelsea Janes tweeted.

It’s happening.
Since 2016, the Orioles haven’t had a good season.
That streak was stopped last year, and this time, they are aiming for the playoffs.
Rutschman leads an exciting core that also includes Cedric Mullins, Ryan Mountcastle, Gunnar Henderson (a Rookie of the Year candidate), Ramon Urias, Jorge Mateo, Anthony Santander, Dean Kremer, Kyle Bradish, Felix Bautista, and now Grayson Rodriguez.
There is more help on the way, too, from one of the premier farm systems in the game.
The Orioles have arrived.
They have a 3-3 record now, but that is bound to improve.
